Hello and greetings from the Lion Tavern. At long last we have our own website, so let’s hear a hearty well done for Mark Trevor from Hadouken Ltd for all his hard work, and if you need a website designing he is most definitely your chap.

Some people may view the idea of giving me the opportunity to address you across the ether as being as dangerous as giving fire-water to the Apaches but fear not, I promise to be on my best behaviour. All that this blog will be used for is to let you know what is happening in one of Liverpool’s finest pubs, along with news, gossip and the odd bit of social commentary.

Which leads us seamlessly into what is happening this week? Well I am so glad that you have asked that because it’s all rather quite exciting. This Friday marks the launch of the Liverpool Beer Quarter Event. A group of like-minded licencees from the Dale Street area have banded together to remind people about the great selection of pubs in the area. Each pub will be putting on something above and beyond what they normally do. For instance, on Friday we will be providing a Peerless Brewery festival , featuring a selection of their best ales, including the brand new Obscura, an Irish style stout, which will sit very nicely next to our very own Seven Streets IPA. On the Saturday we will be proving a selection of some of the finest pies in the North West to go alongside our equally fine ales and on Sunday we are providing a Treasure Hunt between twelve and four.

And that’s it for this week, wasn’t that bad was it? We may even do this again sometime soon!
